What is Ryukyu kempo?
The art of Ryukyu Kempo comes from the island that is known as Okinawa, Japan. Ryukyu Kempo teaches close-in striking, blocking, grappling, locking and escapes techniques. Ryukyu Kempo has a strong emphasis on the use of pressure points which allows an individual the ability to quickly and effectively shut down the nervous system of a stronger, more aggressive opponent. It encompasses Okinawan arts with emphasis on life-protection techniques, regardless of an individual's size.
What makes Ryukyu Kempo Different from other styles of Martial Arts?
Ryukyu Kempo offers the grappling art known as Tuite-jitsu and pressure point striking Kyusho-Jitsu.
Tuite-Jitsu – (Grab-Hand). The arts of grappling and joint manipulations. Tuite-Jitsu is used to defend against common strikes such as pushing and grabbing.
Kyusho-Jitsu - Striking techniques aimed directly at your opponents’ pressure points. Properly used against selected anatomical points of the nervous and circulatory systems, they will temporarily disable an opponent beyond his ability to retaliate.
