Kickboxing


Kickboxing is a great way to reduce stress, gain energy and get into shape. These classes will assist you with muscular conditioning and increase your fitness in a safe and fun atmosphere.

You will gain greater strength and agility with most techniques using the entire body movement rotating the hip with each kick, punch, elbow and block.

On a mental level you will improve your self-confidence, discipline and self-awareness. Our Kickboxing system makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes from the Martial arts of Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do and Karate. The instructor teaches moves using Thai pads, focus mitts, and sparring. Focus mitts are used to teach hand speed, punch / power, timing, defense, and counter-punching. Sparring is used to test technique, skills, range, strategy, and timing against a partner.

Equipment is provided for use during classes but for reasons of hygiene we do recommend that you purchase shin pads to wear for sparring and partner work. These are available for purchase. Wear clothing that won’t restrict your movement. This class will get your body temperature up, so wear t-shirts and trackies or shorts.  We train barefoot on safety matting so you dont require footwear.

FITNESS This is the primary focus and benefit of each Thai Kickboxing class. The classes are designed to help the student lose weight, build muscle and transform his/her body. Additionally, each class is designed to challenge the student's cardiovascular fitness and raise his/her level of conditioning.

SAFETY Adults have different needs than teens and children. Each Thai Kickboxing class is designed to protect the student's knees, ankles, back and neck. We understand that our students have jobs, families and responsibilities. We protect our students from injury by creating a curriculum that considers the adult student's needs. EDUCATION Each class is designed to challenge the student intellectually. We realize that most people join out program for fitness and not to become World Champion Fighters. We teach correct technique in order to provide a safer and more efficient workout. The students learn how to perform their punches, kicks, knees and footwork correctly. Students go on a mental journey each and every class, taking them away from the normal stress and strain of their busy lives. Martial Arts is, in fact, a :Journey towards Self Perfection." The educational element we add to our classes keeps the students focused, happy and challenged.

FUN The last and perhaps the most important element of Thai Kickboxing is fun. There are lots of ways to get into shape, but the one you will stay with the longest and benefit the most is the on you enjoy. We are experts at disguising repetition so that material is familiar, but no to boring. We create a "team oriented" classroom. There is no negativity, sarcasm or indifference. The class is focused and on a quest to not only be their best, but also help others achieve their goals.
